Who I Am 03:41
Who I Am Did you know I’m scared of my guitar No one ever told me it would be this hard To sing the words that I write down And face the folks in my small town Start this road the runs for years Fight the failure, fight the fear Try to fill an empty bar If what you do, is who you are Who I am is black and blue Who I am will push on through Who I am… Is what I’m scared to do Well did you know I’m scared to fall in love No one ever told me it would be this tough To give it up to just one man And trust that I would get love back Settle in and take walls down Wear my momma’s wedding gown Well once it almost got that far If what you do is who you are Who I am is black and blue Who I am will push on through Who I am… Who I am is black and blue Who I am is just like you Who I am… Is what I’m scared to do Did you know I’m scared of my mother No one ever told me I would be just like her I’d sacrifice all my plans To hold the world in just one hand See my light through my children's eyes let them grow and watch them fly Give my love with all my heart Well what you do is who you are And who I am is black and blue Who I am will push on through Who I am… Who I am is black and blue Who I am is just like you Who I am... Is what I’m scared to do Who I am Who I am Who I am That’s who I am

Blink 03:45
Blink Blink I can’t erase this memory of you As if we could ever be two As if sight was something so new Blink no the time won’t soften the blow The years keep taking their toll And what was stolen will never grow old In the blink of an eye can change I can change your life In the blink of an eye can change I can change your life Your life Blink as if this was never your thing A mirage constantly leaving Is seeing believing Blink and the picture is never the same An instant can alter the frame The darkness will change the game In the blink of an eye can change I can change your life In the blink of an eye can change I can change your life In the blink of an eye can change I can change your life In the blink of an eye can change I can change your life Your life Your life Your life In the blink of an eye can change I can change your life In the blink of an eye can change I can change your life In the blink of an eye can change I can change your life In the blink of an eye can change I can change your life Your life Your life Your life Blink I can’t erase this memory of you

Planks & Marietta I see white picket fences and pink lemonade Street signs and headlines that won’t change a thing My heart is heavy with shallow breathing A black life shattered for all the world to see Planks and Marietta your history repeats Planks and Marietta there’s stains in your streets Planks and Marietta your grass grows green What else do you hide behind your skinned knees? White picket lines and red spray paint Crosswalks and blind spots you’re whispering your slurs and your curse words written in the street Black lives scattered underneath your feet Planks and Marietta your history repeats Planks and Marietta there’s stains in your streets Planks and Marietta your grass grows green What else do you hide behind your skinned knees? Your sticks and your stones never broke my bones, but your names still haunt me Planks and Marietta your history repeats Planks and Marietta there’s stains in your streets Planks and Marietta your days grow long It echos on your sidewalks and rolls off your tongue Planks and Marietta Planks and Marietta Is change gonna come? Is change gonna come? Is change gonna come? Is change gonna come?

The Drought 03:49
The Drought I pray it’s raining outside Cause my tears have long dried And my love like the tide, has gone out Where there once flowed a river, How I long to forgive her, the silent killer The drought Ooo ooo ooo The drought Ooo oooooo I played with thunder and light In the same place twice Love’s like a hunger strike, and I’m locked out When there’s nothing left to prove I’ll keep holding back the truth, the damned fool The drought Ooo ooo ooo The drought Ooo ooo ooo I laid it all on the line drew the water from the mine Loved like the sweetest wine, hand to mouth I held the taste of your love, watershed and damage done, the twisted tongue The drought Ooo ooo ooo The drought Ooo ooo ooo You leave me for dead in this drought You leave me for dead You leave me for dead in this drought You leave me for dead You leave me for dead in this drought Ooo ooo ooo You leave me for dead in this drought You leave me for dead You leave me for dead in this drought

When you find you lost your way And your standing all alone And the clouds don’t seem to break Sometimes it's hard to see tomorrow When you need the sun to shine When you need to clear your mind I can do that for you I can do that for you When you need to lift that weight up off your heart I can do that for you When you’re looking in the mirror And you can’t see the truth You just wanna disappear But the beauty is within you ‘Till you believe, yeah in yourself ‘Till you believe, you know I will I can do that for you I can do that for you And when you can’t remember who you are I can do that for you You just gotta tell me, tell me whatever you need Tell me, tell me whatever you need You just gotta tell me, tell me whatever you need Tell me, tell me whatever you need I can do that for you I can do that for you And when you’re feeling lost I’ll be your north star I can do that for you I can do that for you I can do that for you And when you can’t remember who you are I can do that for you You just gotta tell me, tell me whatever you need Tell me, tell me whatever you need You just gotta tell me, tell me whatever you need Tell me, tell me whatever you need

I Will Stand 03:30
You criticize me because I have a different voice I choose to live free and you disagree with that choice I will stand In the light You’re under my skin but I don’t have to let you in I won’t put up a fight but that don’t mean I let you win I will stand, I will stand in the light I’ll stand in the light and let go of the wrong and the right I’ll take a deep breath and I’ll take the next step in my life I will stand I will stand I will stand I will stand in the light oooooh You tear at my heart be I won’t let you wear me down The seeds have been sown but I’ll stand on my own firm ground I will stand I will stand I will stand I will stand in the light oooooh I’ll stand in the light and let go of the wrong and the right I’ll take a deep breath and I’ll take the next step in my life I will stand I will stand I will stand I will stand in the light I will stand I will stand I will stand I will stand in the light

Stay Here 03:27
I’m so tired of crying, tired of the blues Sick and goddamn tired of all this news Ain’t that the state of the world today I’m feeling under the weather, hiding under the covers Trying to put one foot in front of the other With my head in my hands and this world I can’t change Stay…. Here Stay…. Here It looks small, it feels small, this life we’re living It’s hard to imagine my brothers children Growing up in a world to see nothing but hate If we choose to stand, if we choose the light If we choose our hearts instead of our minds Do we choose to stay Stay… Here Stay… Here Stay… Here Stay… Here If we choose to stand, if we choose to fight If we choose our hearts instead of our minds Do we choose to stay Stay… Here Stay… Here It looks small, it feels small, this life we’re living Ain’t it hard to imagine your children’s children

about

Bold, uplifting, and defiant, “I Will Stand" is a deeply personal journey of empowerment out of the darkness that begins by untangling past relationships, finding my voice and forging deeper connections with my community through a series of difficult conversations. These experiences collide with issues of race, terrorism, activism, and love, unearthing deep wounds and narratives that have shrouded my sense of self and my connection to the reckoning that is before mankind. If I Will Stand is a call to be seen, I hope these songs reach those who need to hear them and empower us all to lean into the light.
